The Mustang Mixer The Mustang Bar; A regular Perth hot spot where dancers are the sideshow entertainment every Friday! Catch up with old friends, introduce yourself to new faces and dance to the lively swingin' jazz and rockin’ blues of regulars Adam Hall & the Velvet Playboys. A full night of dancing to local and guest Swing DJs at a unique venue. Witness the return of the amazing Late-nite Lindy Battle, the Solo Dance Off, The Hullabaloo Hoppers and more carnival hijinks! BYO with soft drinks on sale. 10:30 - 4am ------------------- Saturday 26th April ------------------- Be Active Hullabaloo Workshops Camelot Memorial Hall Midland Masquerade Ball The classiest Perth swing event of the year, the annual 'Hullabaloo Ball', not to be missed! Featuring one of Perth’s premier swingin’ bands; The Windy City Jazzmen. Included with your ticket price for this fantastic evening is a light finger-food, all soft drinks and bottled water, Belle & Beau of the Ball competition, performance by Peter & Mia and a complimentary drink of your choice on arrival. And most importantly - hours of social dancing on a magnificently large sprung wooden floor in the grandiose surrounds of the 1907 Midland Town Hall. Alcoholic beverages will be for sale at the bar at amazingly reasonable prices - including our very own 2008 special edition 'Lindy Hopps'!. Strictly no BYO. Theme: Wear a mask! Nibbles will be provided and soft drinks will be available for purchase or BYO. midnight - 4am ------------------- Sunday 27th April ------------------- Be Active Hullabaloo Workshops Camelot Memorial Hall Jazz Dancing Through Time with Peter Loggins Aside from being a remarkable dancer, Peter Loggins is one of the foremost historians on American Jazz Dance. Hullabaloo 2008 is proud to bring you a jazz dance history discussion session held by Peter himself. Do not miss this! Peter will be talking about the history of the dances we all adore. Presented in the Art Deco Hall of Camelot, this session will take place after workshops on Sunday afternoon. 3:30pm - 4:30pm
The Hullabaloo Hop! Follow the carnival atmosphere and head out to the gorgeous Perth Town Hall, built in 1870 right in the centre of the city with a huge wooden dance floor! The Hullabaloo Hop brings you a night of swing dancing, live music, fun and craziness! Cut a rug into the evening to the swingin' sounds of the OZ Big Band, watch Vincenzo and Isabella strut their stuff and be sure to join in on Hullabaloo's famous crazy Jack n Jill contest. The Two-Headed Beast! Two heads are better than one? Multiply your options with two DJ'd rooms: a Lindy room offering bursts of Balboa badness, and a blissful Blues room. It's a chance for Hullabaloo hard-core locals and visitors to encounter some late night hoopla! Chill out on the couches or verandah or dance your socks off til the wee hours to our local and guest DJs. Sample both rooms and you'll be spoilt for choice. The Last Hurrah Enjoy the atmosphere of the delightful Cambridge Bowling Club. Dance to June Smith & The Apple Band. Have a farewell dance and drink with your friends, chat outside or just wind down from the craziness that was Hullabaloo. A chance for everyone to dance under the Hullabaloo banner for the last time. We’ll then sadly bid a fond farewell to our Hullabaloo guests...thanks for being here!!! No BYO as full bar available. 7pm - 1am |
