Blues Magic! Blues dance workshop with Steven & Sophie
Presented by: Swing Zing
February 11, 2012

In the heyday of swing, dancers would go crazy with Lindy Hop on the big ballroom floors, but then also groove to slower tunes at their house parties. At those times it was simply called slow dancing or slow drag. In very recent times, perhaps the last 10 years, the term ‘Blues’ has been attached to this slower and more intimate dance, due to the style of music so frequently played

Blues dancing is growing in popularity, and the reason is that it is fun!! Plus the slower music offers an enjoyable contrast to the faster tempos in traditional Lindy Hop dancing. Steven is a master of Blues, and is sought after around the world to teach this dance. Sophie has taught Blues at events in Adelaide and Auckland, and is hoping to generate a bigger Blues scene here in Perth. So come and taste the Blues, or if you are already addicted, take this opportunity to develop your skills much further.

TIME 2:00 - 4:00pm with dancing afterwards
WHERE: Sophie’s Studio, 42 Fortescue St, East Fremantle. (Or a larger hall nearby if more room is needed.)
COST: $30 for the 2-hour session (paid on the day).
LEVEL: Open class. No experience required.

* Bookings ARE required: Please email your name to sophie@swingzing.com to reserve your place. No partner required.
